Cockington Primary School

Pupils in the Reception classes have been inspired by their Learning Experience linked to the author Julia Donaldson. They have been exploring the story Room on the Broom. The children have had lots of fun making potions in the cauldron, exploring numbers and retelling the story.

The Cockington Primary School football teams have enjoyed playing in several matches this term. It has been great to see some new faces representing the school for the first time, gaining experience, and having lots of fun! Well done to all our players on their victories, positivity, and perseverance.

Eggbuckland Vale Primary School

The Nursery children have enjoyed playing with blocks of ice with mysterious objects hidden inside! They investigated ways of getting the objects out, including melting and breaking. It was an exciting opportunity for the children to work on their exploration and oracy skills.

The Year 5/6 Athletics team had a fantastic time at the ECC Indoor Athletics event, performing amazingly and being inspirational role models for the school. They demonstrated great resilience and determination, supporting and cheering on their teammates. Well done, team!

Leigham Primary School

Year 6 recently held first successful Learning Together session, linked to World War Two. The adults and children worked collaboratively to create Anderson Shelters, followed by the opportunity to taste celebration cakes made by pupils.

Some of the children from The Military Kids Club (MKC Heroes) spent an exciting day at the Plymouth Snow Centre. They got to have a skiing lesson, go snow tubing, experience the Viper Drop and take on the toboggan run. They all thoroughly enjoyed their day with smiles all round. Widey Court Primary School

Pupils from the school's Christmas Choir recently performed at their local light switch-on event in Crownhill. They sang wonderfully and definitely got the crowd into the Christmas spirit!

Year 5 have been drawing their Viking journeys from Scandinavia to Britain. They looked at why the Vikings left Scandinavia and what attracted them to Britain, whilst also looking at the challenges faced along the way.
