Year 5 were fortunate to take part in an exciting virtual session with well-known authors including Sandra Agard and Michael Rosen, organised by the British Library. They explored the origin tales of mountains, forests and skies, and were encouraged to create their own characters that could be used in stories.

This week, the Reception classes celebrated Pancake Day. The children learnt about Christian beliefs linked to Shrove Tuesday, sampled different types of pancakes and enjoyed a fun race flipping with the frying pans.

Year 2 have been researching different types of fruit for a fun task which will involve designing their own healthy snack. They also practiced techniques to safely cut and prepare the fruit, before trying them all for taste.

Year 6 have been busy creating their own monsters based on David Walliams' book Fing.

The Reception classes love talking about their favourite stories and characters. It is wonderful to see the children talking so passionately about books.

Year 2 made the most of the glorious sunshine to work in pairs and practice their ball skills during their PE lessons.
Widey Court Primary School
The Reception classes used their teamwork skills to find painted cones that had been hidden in the woods during their forest school lesson. Next week the children will be trying out leaf rubbing.
