Eggbuckland Vale Primary School wins National EYFS Award

The EYFS team at Eggbuckland Vale have won a national award from Pearson in recognition of their outstanding commitment to changing the lives of children.

Eggbuckland Vale Primary School have picked up a national award for the quality of their early years teaching. The team from Eggbuckland Vale Primary School has been selected from thousands of nominations to win a Pearson National Teaching Silver Award, one of only 8 schools to receive this for Early Years. The school was honoured with the Silver Award for Early Years Team of the Year for their outstanding commitment to changing the lives of the children they work with every day – and will now go forward to the Finals in November.

 

The Finals to win Gold, will be announced at a gala ceremony in London on 25 November and televised on the BBC, with winners showcased on The One Show.

 

‘Eggbuckland Primary School goes from strength to strength,’ celebrated Susie Carroll, Headteacher. ‘Our Early Years team have worked very hard to create a very special and caring environment for very young children to start school successfully. It’s extremely hard to stand out in the teaching community when so many teachers and support staff are doing incredibly well, so winning a national award is both humbling and exciting.’

 

Stuart Bellworthy,CEO of Connect, added ‘We have eight schools in our family ofschools and this year decided to enter teaching awards in recognition of the outstanding work our schools and staff do. We have already won gold in the MATA Awards for our ocean conservation curriculum, and another of our schools,Thornbury Primary, is also a TES Award winner. The work of the Early Years team at Eggbuckland Vale Primary is a shining example of commitment to excellence and to the children and their families so we’re delighted for Susie and the team for this achievement.’

 

The Award was presented to the school by the Chair of the Board of Connect Academy Trust,Christian Jenkins, coinciding with sports day. As parents and children heard the news, the field erupted into clapping and cheering.

 

The Pearson National Teaching Awards is an annual celebration of excellence in education run by the Teaching Awards Trust, an independent charity now in its 25th year, that recognises the life-changing work that takes place in education, highlighting the vital role educators play and the work that’s delivered in schools and colleges every day.
