Eden Park Primary & Nursery School

We are very grateful to our Eden Park PTA team, whose dedication and hard work helped to raise a staggering £1650 at the Summer Fayre! The event was enjoyed by all, and brought the school community together for some well deserved end of term fun. Entertainment was provided by our Stage Struck performing arts club, and musician Tom Beattie. As you can see, Mr Morgan was thrilled to have a go on the inflatable assault course, which was kindly funded by the Chair of our Governing Body, Mr Tim Stephens. We would also like to thank the families and local businesses who gave their support and made donations, all of which contribute towards raising vital funds to enhance our curriculum.

We would like to send Mr Ian Morgan our best wishes in his new SENDCo post at Eden Park. He steps down from his Headteacher position at the end of this academic year on a high, following the announcement of an official rating of Good for the school after our recent Ofsted inspection.  We wish Mr Ben Wallis, who is currently an Assistant Headteacher at Thornbury Primary School, every success in taking over the reins from Mr Morgan in September.

Manadon Vale Primary School

Well done to our fabulous Year 6 pupils who performed a brilliant leavers show called 'I'm an 11 Year Old, Get Me Out of Here!'. We are extremely proud of the children, and wish them all the best at their new secondary schools.

Summer Fun Day 2023 was a huge success, raising a fantastic total of £3735.05! There was an appearance from a local fire engine, martial arts performers, bouncy castle fun and ice cream treats. Thank you to the Manadon Vale PTFA, and to all who helped and supported the event.

Preston Primary School

Our pupils enjoyed a successful Sports Day, despite the weather! Thank you to all the families who attended and supported the event. We know how much it means to the children to have people cheering them on in their races. It is important for children to be competitive, but also to support and appreciate the efforts of others.

Unit 3 recently visited Kent’s Cavern as part of their Stone Age enquiry. The children had a fantastic time exploring the caves and artefacts whilst thinking like historians. Pupils explored their own lines of enquiry and asked questions about Stone Age Torbay. They were excellent ambassadors of our school and demonstrated our values brilliantly throughout the day. The guides at Kent’s Cavern were very complimentary of the children’s behaviour and enjoyed having us. Well done, Unit 3!

Thornbury Primary School

Year 6 recently took part in an Outdoor Adventurous Activity Day hosted by Plymouth School Sports Partnership. The day was aimed at children heading for secondary school and linked us with other feeder schools to Tor Bridge. The children took part in team building and sport activities. It was a great day, even in the pouring rain!

Year 6 have also been busy making their own pizzas and designing boxes ahead of their school camp out. It's safe to say that the best bit was devouring them after their 'camp fire' songs! The camp out was followed this week by an emotional leavers assembly to celebrate the end of an era in their journey through primary school. We are so proud of each child and wish them lots of luck at their new secondary schools.
