Eden Park Primary & Nursery School

During their Wild for Learning sessions, pupils in the Reception classes have adored making music with nature. They were challenged to find two sticks the length of their forearm, and did a fantastic job at listening and following instructions. The children then gathered around the potting tables to sing and tap out a tune.

At the start of the spring term, the school opened their new Wrap Around Care clubs, offering childcare for pupils from 8:00am-6:00pm. The clubs offer a range of exciting and structured activities to keep the children engaged, as well as nutritious snacks. As you can see, the nursery provision have enjoyed getting messy and making playdough!

Manadon Vale Primary School

Over the Christmas holidays, Year 1 pupils were tasked with creating a self-portrait out of recycled materials to link with our science topic this term. The children made an incredible effort and we can’t wait to put them on display!

Year 3 pupils have been working collaboratively as part of their learning in English. The children enjoyed hearing the ideas and opinions of their classmates, broadening their understanding and facilitating social and personal development.

Preston Primary School

The children in Early Years spent an afternoon exploring how they can be independent and why it is important. They took part in a carousel of activities talking about and demonstrating independence. This included dressing up, singing songs, and listening to and talking about the story of Zog.

KS2 pupils recently enjoyed a visit from staff at Paignton Academy to try out Tchoukball, a fast-paced and fun-filled team sport suitable for all ages and abilities. They practiced hand-eye coordination and development of transferable skills by throwing the ball at a specially designed net. The children embraced the challenge of learning a new sport, showing great determination and teamwork.

Thornbury Primary School

Year 3 have taken advantage of the more recent dry weather by getting outdoors for their PE sessions with Plymouth Argyle Community Trust.

Years 1 and 2 have embarked on their new topic To Infinity and Beyond!, working together to create a timeline. The children plotted historical and new events on their timeline and made connections, such as Queen Elizabeth II being the monarch for both the first moon landing in 1969 and the first British astronaut visiting the International Space Station in 2015!
